Civil War monument. The Soldiers and Sailors
monument graces a part of downtown Warren,
Pennsylvania known as the Point. It is at the
intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and Second
Avenue at the foot of the new Hickory Street
Bridge. Crossing the bridge and following the river
to the Route 6 bypass will lead you to a nationally
designated drive, the Longhouse National Scenic
Byway which starts on Route 59 just past the city
limits.
The park pictured here also includes a great
place to view the Allegheny River and a mini Music
Park where free concerts are held Friday and
Saturday nights in the summer. Bluegrass
performers seem to draw the largest crowds
around here.
